Details Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool position within a children's hospital Floats within scope to all pediatric units including CVPICU, NICU, and PICU Patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:3 Night shift schedule of 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, totaling 36 hours per week Required to work every other weekend and rotate holidays Uses Epic EMR system Block scheduling may be accommodated pending manager approval and unit needs Requirements Active SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license required BLS and PALS certification required (AHA certifications only) Minimum 2 years of Pediatric ICU experience required ECMO and CRRT experience preferred Experience with medications including anti-seizure meds, continuous sedation, and IV vasopressors Skilled in pediatric dosage calculations Respiratory skills including BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, and ABG interpretation Experience managing chest tubes and acute airway care IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line, and PICC line management experience ICP monitoring experience Skilled in interpretation and management of cardiac dysrhythmias Knowledge of infection control, isolation precautions, and PPE use Social Security number and driver's license required for consideration Additional Information Provide critical care nursing to pediatric patients across multiple specialty units First-time travelers considered if they meet the required experience Candidates must live within a 60-mile radius, with non-local candidates prioritized Local candidates considered on a case-by-case basis Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a travel RN All requested time off must be submitted at the time of consideration During hurricane season (June through November, peak August-September), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams American Traveler Job ID P-749200.
