Position Focus This is a primarily outpatient-based role with some inpatient responsibilities, with flexibility based on the selected candidate. The ACNP will support complex oncology patients throughout their surgical journey, emphasizing continuity of care from diagnosis through post‑operative follow‑up. About the Role Banner University Medicine Tucson seeks an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner for our Surgical Oncology Division, working with a team of five surgical oncologists focusing on liver, pancreas, and biliary system procedures for benign and malignant conditions. Key Responsibilities Manage outpatient clinical care with some inpatient support (two APPs on the team, both expected to cover both roles as needed) Facilitate smooth transitions between hospital and outpatient settings Perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures such as drain removal, opening of wounds, and basic wound care Interpret diagnostic tests and prescribe medications Collaborate with surgeons, residents, nurses, and other team members Participate in patient education, consultation, and research Ideal Candidate Comfortable with clinical management in both outpatient and inpatient settings and works well in a collaborative multidisciplinary team. New graduates with an interest in complex surgical care are encouraged to apply. Minimum Requirements Current Board Certification, DEA license, and BLS certification Graduate degree from an accredited ACNP program Oncology experience preferred but not required Work Schedule Monday – Friday, 5‑Day, 8‑Hour Shifts Location Banner University Medical Center Tucson, 1625 N.
