Construction Executive (Water / Wastewater)

As a Construction Executive at Clark Water, you will leverage your capacity for innovation and problem solving to lead and oversee all field operations on a project to ensure an exceptional project is delivered to our clients. You will supervise self-performed and contracted work ensuring compliance with contract documents and the project schedule while also implementing a culture of safety and quality.ResponsibilitiesSupervise and lead the timely and cost-effective installation of the contracted work of the project or multiple projectsImplement safety programs and conduct regular safety inspections to ensure all working conditions and work practices are in compliance with company, contract, and government regulationsImplement a culture of safety and quality among Clark employees and subcontractorsCreate a plan to successfully sequence the work, manage jobsite logistics, and track materials & personnelMaintain a high quality of work consistent with project and company standardsTakes initiative and personal responsibility to deliver a project on schedule and on budgetDevelop and update the project schedule and exhibit a command of critical schedule milestonesCommunicate the schedule effectively with contractors and project stakeholders. Lead multi-disciplinary meetings to gain universal buy-in on the project schedule. Develop and maintain recovery schedulesManage, mentor, and develop team members to build a highly functioning teamCultivate and build new and existing client relationships. Manage interpersonal relationships with executive leadership and clientsMaintain professionalism while representing the company and team in internal and external meetings and interactionsPossess expert knowledge of the owner contract, subcontracts and vendor agreementsParticipate in the development and maintenance of staff charts, general conditions, project costs, and demonstrate understanding of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for the projectParticipate in close out activities including punch list and building operations trainingParticipate in marketing proposals and presentationsDemonstrate advanced problem-solving capabilities in finding ways to overcome constant obstacles, issues, and conflicts on the job. Identify long-term risks and find ways to advance the project plan to neutralize conflict and issuesDemonstrated ability to make decisions in an effective & timely manner, to develop talent and to instill accountability, while maintaining the highest levels of integrityUses expertise to lead and create a vision that aligns the team to deliver a timely and cost effective project. Create a project site environment that inspires the team to perform at their bestA proven people leader with senior level experience in attracting, developing, and engaging diverse talent by fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture based on trust and respectProactively identify and develop relationships with industry professionals to generate and win the right workExceed our stakeholders’ expectations by anticipating their needs, desires, and goalsBasic QualificationsUndergraduate or graduate degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, a related discipline or relevant work experience12+ years of experience working on wastewater treatment projectsExperience leading large dam/reservoir/heavy civil project can also be considered6+ years leading, developing and motivating teamsIn depth knowledge of the construction process to include scheduling, contract administration, equipment, and personnelDemonstrated experience leading field operations and communicating plans effectively across multiple audiences. Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of stakeholdersAdvanced knowledge of applicable safety and building regulations (i.e. OSHA)Alignment to Clark Standards of Excellence: self-motivated, results oriented, adaptable, team player, accountable, ethical, innovative, resilient, builds relationships, builds people/teams & followership, sets direction and executesPreferred QualificationsWorking knowledge of construction management software platforms & tools including Procore, PlanGrid, FieldWire, Bluebeam, and P6The work environment and requirements described below are representative of those necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.The Physical Side of the Role: This is an active, hands-on role. You can expect to be on your feet frequently, navigating active job sites with uneven terrain, stairs, ladders, and hoists. The work is physically demanding and requires a full range of motion, including bending, kneeling, and reaching. You’ll need to be comfortable frequently lifting and carrying materials up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds. This role requires the ability to communicate effectively, as well as visual acuity for reading plans and inspecting work. The role does include desk time in the office that may require prolonged periods of sitting for tasks like computer work, document review, and meetings.Your Work Environment: You’ll spend a significant amount of your time on active construction sites, which means being adaptable to all kinds of weather and moderate to loud noise levels, and comfortable in elevated or confined work areas with moving mechanical equipment and with the fast-paced nature of a project in progress. You will also spend time in a typical office setting with moderate noise levels.
