Job Title: Head of Compliance and Quality Assurance (HCQA) Reports To: Vice President of Hospice Operations / Chief Executive Officer Status: Exempt Salary Range: Commensurate with experience Location: Nashville, TN - with Travel: up to 75% Position Summary This position will lead enterprise governance, clinical integrity, compliance, and operational risk management efforts across AFC's growing hospice and value-based care platform. The ideal candidate is a collaborative, solutions-oriented leader who can help build a modern, scalable, AI-forward governance infrastructure that supports operational excellence, compliant innovation, clinical defensibility, and technology-enabled growth. This role will partner closely with executive leadership, operations, finance, physician leadership, and external partners to operationalize governance across a rapidly scaling, multi-state healthcare organization. As the organization expands across new markets and service lines, this leader will have a unique opportunity to help shape the clinical, compliance, and governance infrastructure that supports AFC's next stage of growth. Strategic Priorities Build scalable enterprise governance infrastructure Strengthen hospice clinical integrity and defensibility Support compliant innovation and AI adoption Advance value-based care and goals-of-care governance Support multi-state growth and operational scalability Promote a collaborative, practical, and operationally embedded governance culture Key Responsibilities Enterprise Governance & Operational Leadership Lead enterprise governance, compliance, and clinical integrity initiatives across hospice and value-based care operations Develop scalable governance systems, operational controls, and compliance workflows Partner cross-functionally with operations, finance, clinical leadership, and legal stakeholders Support executive and board-level reporting related to quality, compliance, governance, and operational risk Promote a collaborative and solutions-oriented governance culture Hospice Clinical Integrity & Regulatory Oversight Lead regulatory compliance monitoring and ongoing regulatory readiness activities Lead accreditation and survey readiness efforts, including corrective action planning and follow-up Lead enterprise risk management activities related to hospice operations Lead QAPI program design, implementation, monitoring, and performance improvement initiatives Oversee compliance and quality education programs Support hospice governance activities and governing body reporting Serve as a key governance partner to the Chief Medical Officer and Hospice Branch Medical Directors on matters involving eligibility documentation and defensibility, physician documentation, certification and recertification practices, clinical defensibility, interdisciplinary team governance, and hospice regulatory compliance Support operational standardization across multiple hospice branches and future growth markets Monitor evolving hospice regulatory requirements and accreditation standards, including CHAP and other applicable accrediting organizations Value-Based Care & Counsel Care Governance Support compliant goals-of-care and patient engagement workflows Ensure patient choice protections and referral neutrality standards are operationalized Partner with operational leaders to support value-based care initiatives and payer relationships Support governance and audit readiness related to care coordination and payer/provider partnerships Partner with operational and technology leaders to support scalable, technology-enabled workflow innovation across AFC’s hospice and value-based care platform Support governance related to AI-enabled clinical and operational workflows Help establish scalable governance frameworks for future AI and data initiatives Evaluate operational and regulatory risks associated with emerging technologies and data workflows Promote responsible and practical adoption of innovative technologies Support enterprise risk assessments and operational compliance monitoring activities Coordinate investigations and corrective action processes as needed Identify emerging operational, clinical, and regulatory risk trends Coordinate with external legal, cybersecurity, audit, operational, and consulting partners Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Hotline investigation resolution times Quality measure performance Reduction in regulatory risk exposure Core Competencies Strategic problem-solving mindset Operational systems thinking Collaborative leadership style Strong communication and executive presence AI-forward and innovation-oriented thinking Ability to balance regulatory defensibility with operational practicality Strong analytical and organizational capabilities High emotional intelligence and relationship-building skills Ability to lead through influence across cross-functional teams Commitment to ethical, patient-centered care Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field CHC certification required or obtained within 12 months of hire 7–10+ years of progressive healthcare leadership experience Experience in hospice, home-based care, post-acute care, palliative care, or value-based care environments Experience leading healthcare compliance, quality, clinical integrity, or governance initiatives Strong operational leadership and cross-functional collaboration skillsExperience working with executive leadership and physician stakeholders Preferred Qualifications CHC, CHPC, HCS-D, CPHQ, or related certifications preferred Hospice leadership experience Multi-site healthcare operations experience Experience with QAPI, survey readiness, and audit response processes Experience in value-based care or payer/provider partnership environments Experience supporting AI, data governance, or healthcare technology initiatives #J-18808-Ljbffr Anderson Family Care
