The Cooperstown Central School District is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a substitute bus monitor position. Overview: Ride with students primarily students with special needs on morning and afternoon bus runs. Ensure a safe, orderly, and supportive environment while assisting the driver and students. Key Responsibilities:

Assist students with preparatory tasks (e.g., buckling seat belts and harnesses)
Maintain order and supervise student behavior during transport
Communicate safety expectations and provide positive support
Perform additional related duties as assigned

Schedule: Approximmately 2-3 hours per day when school is in session

Morning : 6:50-8:00 AM
Afternoon : 2:15-4:00 PM

Minimum Requirements:

Successful completion of the 10-hour Basic School Bus Monitor & Attendant Course (training provided if needed)
Good judgment, tact, and courtesy; ability to work well with children and earn their respect
Good general intelligence and physical condition suitable for the role
