Process Technician I

Job Summary Control or operate machinery or equipment to assist with manufacturing, packaging, and other steps along a production line. May be expected to handle heavy machinery. Position Title Production Process Technician I Location Madison, Wisconsin USA Department Manufacturing Reports to Production Supervisor Position Overview The Production Process Technician Level 1 is an hourly / non‑exempt entry‑level role responsible for supporting the production and processing of food and dietary ingredients in a manufacturing plant. This position involves assisting with the operation and maintenance of production equipment, ensuring product quality, and adhering to safety and hygiene standards. Key Responsibilities Assist in the setup, operation, and monitoring of production equipment. Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain product quality and consistency. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment and work areas. Monitor production processes and report any deviations or issues to supervisors. Conduct quality checks and accurately record data. Adhere to all safety and hygiene regulations and guidelines. Collaborate with team members to achieve production targets and goals. Participate in training programs to develop skills and knowledge in food and dietary ingredient manufacturing. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions. Good communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and handle multiple tasks. Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and technologies. Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in a manufacturing or food processing environment. Knowledge of food safety and quality standards.
