Cybersecurity Analyst

Wichita Tribal Enterprises, LLC, a Quivera Enterprises company, is seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Analyst The Cybersecurity Analyst role requires a security professional with extensive knowledge of internet protocols, operating systems, cryptographic principles, and common security technologies, as well as strong analytical capabilities. The position involves identifying and analyzing vulnerabilities, understanding exploitation techniques, performing incident response activities, and using network and vulnerability-scanning tools to isolate and remediate malicious activity. Strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to clearly explain technical decisions are essential, along with the capability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. Proactively identify and diagnose incidents, and collaborate and communicate with cross-technical teams for issue resolution. Candidates must also be able to manage sensitive information responsibly while prioritizing and organizing work in a fast-paced security environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Various Internet protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, BGP, SMTP,
• Computer system and Internet security issues
• Various security technologies (e.g., encryption, firewalls, and anti-virus/anti-malware products)
• Security auditing practices
• Underlying software defects that routinely result in security vulnerabilities (e.g., input validation errors)
• Understanding of intruder techniques and software exploitation methods
• System, database, and/or network administration
• Operational details of multiple operating systems
• Cryptographic principles and common cryptographic protocols
• Anti-virus/anti-malware alerting
• Network and vulnerability scanning technologies.
• Incident response techniques and procedures
• The collection of incident details and supporting information
• Isolation techniques for malicious activity
• Have an interest in and have extensive knowledge of network and computer security issues.
• Can analyze software to discover vulnerabilities, including the ability to read and comprehend logs (extracted from GFE)
• Be able to develop and explain technical decisions.
• Be able to separate facts from opinion an d speculation.
• Have excellent work prioritization, planning, and organizational skills.
• Interact effectively with vulnerability reporters, system and network administrators, vendors, experts, Internet users, sponsors, policy makers, news reporters, managers, and staff (i.e., stakeholders in the vulnerability disclosure process)
• Recognize and deal appropriately with confidential and sensitive information.

Required Qualifications

• US Citizenship required
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Tier 2, Public Trust background investigation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with DOI
• Knowledge of FIPS and NIST compliance and regulations.
• Be able to work with closely coordinated team during emergencies.
• Have excellent analytical, reasoning, and creative problem-solving skills.

• Be able to quickly learn new procedures, techniques, and approaches.

Education Requirements

• 5+ years in a Window and Unix/Linux environment
• Certifications required within the first year of employment.

Physical Demands - IT Office/Technical Role

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee, with or without reasonable accommodation.

This role is primarily office-based and requires prolonged computer use, including sitting, typing, and operating standard office equipment. Occasional walking, standing, bending, and reaching may be required to support equipment setup and troubleshooting. The employee must be able to lift up to 15 pounds, with occasional heavier lifting.

The employee must be able to communicate effectively and maintain visual acuity (close, distance, color, and depth perception). Occasional travel and extended hours may be required to support operational needs and deadlines.
