Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift ICU RN requiring an active MA RN license, 2 years of Medical/Surgical ICU experience, and Epic charting proficiency.

Details

• Work in the Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit of a community hospital
• 1:2 patient ratio
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:15 AM)
• Every third weekend required (Friday-Saturday)
• 36 hours per week with 13 or 26 week assignment options, also open to 48 HPW
• Floating to the ED for boarder patients as needed
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active MA RN license in hand required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Previous Medical ICU and Surgical ICU experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, central/PICC/arterial line management, and blood product administration
• Experienced in ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, and ABG interpretation
• Skilled in titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, continuous IV sedation, and paralytics
• Experienced in CVA/acute stroke management and hypothermia protocol
• Proficient in cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in a unionized hospital setting with no special scheduling accommodations, requiring availability to work all 7 days
• Complete pass/fail medication and telemetry exams during orientation, each with a single attempt; failure results in immediate contract cancellation
• Study materials provided during compliance process and facility-directed interviews to help prepare for required exams
• Local candidates accepted within a 200-mile radius at the same bill rate
• Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
• Up to 14 days of requested time off may be submitted for review, with no RTO permitted during the first week of the assignment
• Candidates with any prior disciplinary actions on their nursing license will not be considered
