Bobbees Bottling is seeking a hands-on Production Supervisor to oversee a trained production team operating our Dry goods packaging operation.

This is a highly repetitive production environment. The team is already trained on the process and runs the same product and packaging format each day. Expect once a month runs a smaller size. The Supervisor's primary responsibility is to keep the operation running efficiently, ensure production targets are achieved, maintain accurate production records, and immediately address issues that could slow or stop production.

The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, comfortable leading hourly production employees, and willing to work alongside the team when necessary to keep production moving.

Primary Responsibilities

The Production Supervisor will be responsible for:

• Supervising the daily packaging operation and production team.
• Ensuring daily and hourly production targets are understood and achieved.
• Monitoring production throughout the shift and identifying when output is falling behind target.
• Communicating production status, problems, staffing needs, and downtime with the Production Manager.
• Assigning employees to positions and adjusting staffing throughout the shift as necessary.
• Stepping into production positions or "plugging holes" when necessary to keep the line operating.
• Ensuring correct lot codes and date codes are used and changed when required.
• Verifying that lot-code changes are properly completed and documented.
• Tracking production quantities, finished units, scrap, rework, and downtime.
• Ensuring scrap is accurately counted and reported.
• Investigating excessive scrap or production losses and communicating issues to management.
• Ensuring production paperwork is completed accurately and on time.
• Monitoring employee attendance, breaks, productivity, and performance.
• Coordinating with the Production Manager regarding production schedules, staffing, material availability, and operational issues.
• Ensuring employees follow established safety, quality, GMP, and sanitation procedures.
• Keeping the production area organized and ensuring the team is prepared for the next shift or production day.
• Escalating equipment, quality, material, or personnel issues quickly rather than allowing them to impact the entire shift.

Key Performance Expectations

Success in this position will primarily be measured by:

Production Output: The team consistently meets or exceeds established daily production targets.

Labor Management: Employees are positioned effectively and the line remains adequately staffed throughout the shift.

Downtime: Problems are addressed quickly and unnecessary downtime is minimized.

Scrap Control: Scrap is accurately counted, documented, investigated, and kept within established targets.

Lot-Code Accuracy: Correct lot and date codes are used and all changes are properly documented.

Production Reporting: Production counts, scrap, downtime, and other required information are accurate and submitted on time.

Communication: The Production Manager is immediately informed of significant production, staffing, quality, or equipment problems.

Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing, packaging, warehouse, or production experience preferred.
• Previous team-lead or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to lead and hold employees accountable while maintaining a productive working environment.
• Comfortable working directly on the production floor.
• Strong basic math and recordkeeping skills.
• Ability to track production numbers and compare actual output against production targets.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to make quick staffing and operational decisions.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Food manufacturing or GMP experience is preferred but not required.
