This role pays $1,344 per week and follows a Days shift with a 5x8 schedule. In this travel Physical Therapy Assistant job, you will support patient care through specialty-specific clinical services, perform assessments and treatments within your scope of practice, document patient progress, operate relevant medical equipment, and collaborate with physicians and the broader care team to help deliver quality patient outcomes.

Select Specialty Hospital – Pensacola is a 52-bed long-term acute care hospital in the Select Medical network, where therapists work with medically complex, post-ICU patients to restore breathing, speech, swallowing, mobility, and cognition.

Select Specialty Hospital – Pensacola works with medically complex, post-ICU patients — ventilator weaning, complex wounds, and prolonged recovery — a high-acuity, longer-length-of-stay caseload. Interdisciplinary PT, OT, and speech-language pathology help patients breathe, speak, eat, walk, and think more independently, including cognitive rehabilitation for executive function and daily-task safety. An on-site 22-bed acute inpatient rehabilitation unit, Select Medical Rehabilitation – Pensacola, adds a rehab gym and an ADL apartment for cooking and laundry practice before discharge.

Responsibilities

• Deliver hands-on treatment under the direction of a supervising Physical Therapist, following each patient's established plan of care
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercise, gait training, transfers, and functional mobility activities
• Progress interventions within the established plan of care as patients advance, as directed by the supervising therapist
• Monitor patient response during treatment and report progress and concerns to the supervising therapist

Travel Physical Therapy Assistant Requirements:

• 2+ years of recent Physical Therapy Assistant experience.
• Must hold all required certifications and licenses as mandated by Florida and national regulatory bodies.
