2026 Summer School High School Counselor Alief Independent School District (ALIEF) – Various Locations, Houston, Texas Starting Date: Immediately Job Description Provide counseling and guidance services to students enrolled in summer school, focusing on academic support and social‑emotional development within a Comprehensive Counseling Program. The counselor works collaboratively with teachers and administrators to ensure students make positive progress during the summer session and provides appropriate resources and referrals. Responsibilities Deliver counseling and guidance services to summer school students. Collaborate with teachers and administrators to monitor student progress. Provide academic support and social‑emotional guidance. Identify and refer students to appropriate resources. Work with students with varied needs and follow school policies and procedures. Qualifications Current Professional School Counselor. Valid Texas School Counseling Credentials. Understanding of course scheduling dynamics. Special Knowledge/Skills Ability to provide academic and social emotional support. Ability to work with children with varied needs. Ability to follow policy and procedures. Collaborate effectively in a team environment. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Professional appearance and attitude. Experience Three (3) years of school counseling experience required. Work Hours and Compensation 7‑hour workday. Salary: $35 per hour. Contract and Employment Duration Part‑time. Length of employment: 14 days (June 3–30 2026) after the 2025‑2026 contract ends on June 5 2026. Weeks: June 3–4, June 8–11, June 15–18, June 22–25, June 29–30.
