Master Technician PositionR&P Technologies is looking for a master technical skills and waterfront knowledge under supervision of a Lead Technician Level IV. Provide training to Technician Level II and I personnel. They are responsible for reporting all task completions and production obstacles to their Lead Technician and will be capable of standing in as Lead Technician when required. Ensure that all work performed is in accordance with ship specification requirements while complying with all OSHA, NAVSEA, ABS, local shipyard, and R&P safety policies and procedures. Execute plans of electrical installations to include, but not limited to 115VAC/440VAC/Various VDC equipment, fiber optics, lighting, announcing, RF antennas, audio/video, interior communications and alarms, and network systems. They will operate efficiently in a team environment and demonstrate effective leadership qualities while dealing with junior personnel. Receive mentorship/guidance from Lead Technician or Task Lead for questions on any assigned tasks that are not fully understood.ResponsibilitiesExecute plans of electrical installations for many different electrical and electronic systems such as lighting, announcing, 115V/440V electrical plant equipment, Uninterrupted Power Supply equipment, Audio/Video equipment, Antenna systems and many othersInstall electrical cabinets, fixtures, and equipment for various electrical systemsInstall safety and distribution components (e.g., switches, resistors, circuit-breaker panels etc.)Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks using various MIL-SPEC connectorsPull in cables of various lengths and sizes to accommodate system connectionsPerform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair/replace damaged equipmentPotentially run shipboard availabilities with a small crew.Learn Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and Adobe Acrobat DC.QualificationsMust be a Marine Electrician with a minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience working in ship repair onboard US Navy ships (technical education may be substituted for a portion of the experience requirement)Must have experience and multi-pin copper connector certification of cables per Navy Standard Item 009-73 (MIL-STD-2003-5)Must be familiar with NAVY Standard ItemsAbility to read, understand and follow customer work item requirements, drawings, and wiring diagrams.Individual must have a keen attention to detail and be quality metric drivenMust be a US citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret security clearance (current active Secret clearance is a plus).Fluency in English (verbal and written)Successful completion of Navy "A" School ("C" School is a plus) or successful completion of a Shipyard or commercial Electrical apprenticeship program (recognized shipyard apprentice graduates are a plus).Secret DOD security Clearance preferredMust have experience and multi-pin copper connector certification of cables per Navy Standard Item 009-73 (MIL-STD-2003-5)Shipyard competent person certification a plusProven experience as an electricianExperience in marine electrical systemsPrior experience supervising other personnelDemonstrable ability to use electrical and hand tools (e.g. wire strippers, voltmeter etc.)Demonstrate ability to build MIL-SPEC connectors of various types and sizes using both soldering and crimping techniquesAbility to read and understand electrical and installation drawings and blueprintsExcellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilityExcellent physical condition with the ability to lift 50 pounds on your ownWillingness to travel to various locations in support of ship maintenance availabilitiesFlexibility with regards to scheduling and planned support due to constant Navy movementThorough knowledge of safety procedures and guidelinesValid Security Clearance, or the ability to qualify and maintain oneEEO StatementR&P Technologies provides equal opportunity for all persons and prohibits discrimination in employment because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability (including pregnancy, childbirth or related medical conditions), veteran or marital status, or any other factor prohibited by law.
