Substitute CustodianImmediate openings for Substitute Custodians At Helena Public Schools, our vision is to foster dynamic educational experiences that prepare all students for life. As a Substitute Custodian you contribute to this mission by filling in for sick and vacation leave absences and assisting with keeping the District's buildings in such a state of operating excellence that they present no problems or interruptions to the educational program. You will work as part of a team of 70+ serving 8,000 students over 17 campuses across Helena. These positions have flexible work days and work hours. We are willing to accommodate interested individuals by offering 4, 6 or 8 hour shifts.Some of what you will do:Assists in maintaining seasonal grounds work (snow) etc.Cleans and preserves designated spaces, equipment etc. in the building.Performs ongoing preventative maintenance and minor repair on plumbing, custodial equipment, building structure and hardware.Performs light maintenance as needed.Assists the visiting public utilizing school facilities with directions within the building and in obtaining and setting up needed equipment and/or materials.Maintains building and grounds security by closing the building each school day and during special eventsTo become part of this dedicated team, you need: High school diploma or equivalent; Up to three (3) months of related experience and/or training; Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience as determined by the District. Essential functions of the position include the ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds such as cleaning supplies, pails and unloading trucks. Occasionally the employee will lift and/or move up to 1000 pounds such as bulk furniture with or without a reasonable accommodation. Salary is $14.15 per hour.
