Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist in development of and control of institution's budget.
• Responsible for order, receiving and distributing supplies and equipment.
• Responsible for fiscal activities to include requisitions, purchase orders, inmate payroll, budget preparation, and expenditures.
• Responsible for petty cash.
• Supervise the mailroom to include serving as backup.
• Ensure proper audits are conducted of monies in special funds, meal ticket and postage accounts.
• Responsible for maintenance and inmate telephones.
• Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

Minimum and Additional Requirements:

State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements: A high school diploma and work experience that is directly related to the area of employment. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the related work experience.

SCDC Minimum Requirements:

• A high school diploma and work experience that is directly related to the area of employment.
• A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prefer 2 years of accounting or accounting related experience.
