POSITION SUMMARY: The Patient Transporter is an integral part of the patient care team providing prompt, courteous, customer-focused service to the patients, visitors, and coworkers of Boston Medical Center. The Patient Transporter is responsible for patient transport within the hospital and for miscellaneous functions as well. He/she contributes to service excellence by fostering collaboration among and between team members as well as other ancillary departments. Position: Patient Transporter Department: Patient Transport Schedule: Per Diem, Weekends Required, Holidays Required, Non-Benefit Eligible JOB REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION: High diploma or GED preferred KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Requires heavy lifting and pushing, pulling and standing. Requires the interpersonal skills necessary to communicate clearly to interact appropriately with nursing staff, patients, families/visitors, physicians, and other hospital staff. Work requires demonstrated ability to effectively speak, read, and write English. Work requires ability to follow instructions, work independently and efficiently to complete assigned work. EXPERIENCE: Requires 6-12 months of experience in customer service or hospital experience CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED: Obtaining and the maintenance of CPR preferred Compensation Range: $17.92- $26.63 This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications.
