As a Host/Hostess at our cafe, you will be the first impression for our guests, creating a welcoming atmosphere and managing the seating process to ensure a delightful dining experience. Essential Functions Warmly greet all guests upon arrival, ensuring they feel welcomed and valued. Record guest names and party sizes when immediate seating is unavailable, adding to virtual line for a smooth waiting experience. Provide guests with estimated wait times and keep them informed throughout their wait. Page guests when tables become available, thanking them for their patience and inquiring about any special needs, such as the number of children in their party. Escort guests to their tables with menus and silverware, ensuring a seamless transition to their dining experience. Accommodate special seating requests whenever feasible, balancing customer flow in service sections. Inform guests of their server’s name upon seating to personalize their experience. Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return, reinforcing a welcoming environment. Maintain cleanliness in the host area, including floors and door glass, to ensure a tidy appearance. Remove used tableware promptly as guests finish, keeping the dining area organized and welcoming. Respond promptly and appropriately to guest requests, communicating needs to servers as necessary. Collaborate with servers and fellow hosts to ensure efficient seating and optimal table utilization. Assist servers with plate removal, especially during peak periods and with large parties. Keep all front-of-house areas clean, including floors around trash cans and walkways. Proactively clean tabletops, chairs, and booths between seatings, checking and cleaning floors as needed. Thank guests as they leave, leaving a lasting positive impression. Be flexible and available to fill in where needed to ensure smooth operations, as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor. Additional Responsibilities Pay Range: $13.00 - $16.00 Incentives and Benefits of this position may include but are not limited to: No NIGHTS. Health insurance available for full time employees. 50% employee meals Position qualifications include but are not limited to: A min of at least 1 year of previous hosting, but will train the right candidates.
