Immediate Supervisor: Building Principal
Salary: Per PSRP Contract -$23.00/hourly

    Summary:
    Under the direct supervision of the principal and assistant principal(s) to provide clerical, secretarial and administrative assistance to school administrators at the high school and supporting the broad array of services provided to students, parents, instructional and support employees.

    Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Office experience- Preferred

    Job Responsibilities:
  • Assists with the day-to-day operations of the Main Office Administrators - including answering phones, taking messages, arranging meetings, and setting calendar appointments for the Main Office Administrators.
  • Routinely meets and interacts with staff, students, substitute teachers, community members, vendors, and other members of the public in situations which require professional, tactful, and courteous communication with discretion.
  • Prepares, copies and distributes notices, memoranda or other correspondence for the purpose of informing school employees, students, and community members regarding activities, events or other school-related matters.
  • Assists in planning and scheduling school events and activities, and maintaining calendar of school and students events for the purpose of coordinating and scheduling events such as graduation, registration, parent conferences, orientation, open house, field trips, sporting events, assemblies, faculty workshops, etc.
  • Assists in maintaining documents, files and records for the purpose of providing up-to-date reference and audit trail for compliance.
  • Orders, maintains, and prepares purchase orders for the purpose of submitting to the school district's accounting/finance office.
  • Maintains inventories of and orders supplies and materials for the purpose of ensuring items' availability for Main Office use.
  • Types Board reports, agenda and meeting minutes, and other formal correspondence to staff, students, and the community.
  • Assist visitors to the office, including students, parents, substitutes teachers, and others.
  • Answers telephone calls, and provide information and assistance to callers.
  • Distribute incoming mail and send outgoing mail appropriately.
  • Evaluates situations for the purpose of taking appropriate action and/or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution.
  • Responds to inquiries from students, parents and employees, providing information, facilitating communication among parties and/or providing direction.
  • Compiles data and information from various sources and inputs on various forms.
  • Provides support and assistance to the Guidance and Deans offices as well as with the Registrar when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Equipment:
Use standard office equipment, such as computers and copiers.

Travel Requirements:
Travel between schools, or between schools and central offices, may be required for certain positions.
