The Senior Physical Therapist provides physical therapy services to individuals and their families in a team relationship with other health care providers. Responsibilities A day in the life of a Senior Physical Therapist at Hackensack Meridian Health includes: Performs all functions associated with the evaluation of patients for all age groups within the department’s responsibility. Performs all functions associated with the execution of therapeutic treatment for all age groups within the department’s responsibility. Completes all documentation required within the regarded timeline according to department. Serves as clinical resources in case management to all non-senior physical therapists on staff. Assists department management in the development, coordinator and implementation of new programs that will enhance the department’s scope of services to service the needs of the community. Provides department management feedback regarding procedural, programmatic and staff concerns. Identifies the needs of the patient population served and modifies and delivers care that is specific to those needs (i.e., age, culture, language, hearing and/or visually impaired, etc.). This process includes communicating with the patient, parent and/or primary caregiver(s) at their level (developmental/age, educational, literacy, etc.). Adheres to the standards identified in the Medical Center’s Organizational Competencies. Qualifications Graduation from an accredited physical therapy school. 5 years previous experience. Licenses And Certifications Required Physical Therapist License. BLS AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification. Working Conditions Lifts a minimum of 50 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 100 lbs., and stands a minimum of 6 hours a day. Internal Equity: Compensation is determined in a manner consistent with compensation ranges for similar roles within the organization. Budget and Grant Funding: Departmental budgets and any grant funding associated with the job position may impact the pay that can be offered. Some jobs may also be eligible for performance-based incentives, bonuses, or commissions not reflected in the starting rate. Certain positions may also be eligible for shift differentials for work performed on evening, night, or weekend shifts.
