Utilizing technical information to interpret prescription to assist customer with selection of optical products and services. Pay Class: Part Time, 0-19 hours per week Pay: $27 - $40.50 per hour Responsibilities Assist each customer in frame and lens selection meeting social distance requirements. Ensure compliance with social distancing, cleaning protocols and hygiene practices. Provide customers with accurate product information regarding frames, lens selections and other services. Inform customers covered by third‑party insurance of benefits and any additional charges not covered. Utilize the SERVE sales process to identify customer needs and recommend lenses. Analyze and interpret patient prescriptions; communicate with Lab and Optometrist for accuracy. Sell, fit and dispense frames and accessories with accurate measurements, verification and adjustments. Maintain a clean and orderly dispensing area. Ensure accurate pricing for retail customers. Provide feedback and guidance to Apprentice Opticians where applicable. Adhere to privacy and confidentiality policies, including HIPAA. Participate in training and educational activities required for professional affiliations. Diligently maintain cleanliness of all equipment, workstations and facility on a daily basis. Complete additional responsibilities as assigned by changing business needs. Education High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience & Background Must have and maintain applicable state licensure for ophthalmic dispensing. Knowledge and demonstrated abilities in explaining optical products, services, prescription analysis, fitting and dispensing. Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and associates. Mathematical Skills Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
