We are a national leader in environmental remediation services, including soil remediation, soil stabilization and solidification, landfill cap and cell construction, permeable reactive barriers, deep soil mixing, biopolymer trenches, slurry walls and demolition of hazardous waste sites.The Heavy Equipment Operator I will safely operate heavy construction equipment for earthwork construction projects. May include operating multiple types of heavy equipment such as trucks, front-end loaders, track loaders, rubber tire loaders, backhoes, excavators, hoe rams, bulldozers, scrapers, compactors, or skid steers onsite to excavate, move, grade and stabilize materials in a safe and efficient manner. RECON holds safety as a core value, and the Operator I must always be focused on safe work practices.ResponsibilitiesObserve and comply with all company and specific site safety and project policiesSupply input to Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and frequent improvements or changes to Job Safety Analysis Plan (JSAP)Operate heavy construction equipment in a safe and appropriate manner to mitigate risk of injury, property damage, and the loss of life in accordance to company policiesPerform daily pre-inspection of equipment to ensure it's safe and fit for duty, conduct on-going maintenance checks, and manage the daily custody of construction equipmentConduct constant surveillance of surroundings before and during the operation of all equipment to ensure safe ground and slope conditions; maintain an adequate distance between other equipment, RECON team members and structures in the immediate work areaCommunicate clearly using radio contact, visible verbal, and nonverbal hand signals to determine where materials should be safely placed, loaded or unloadedWork closely with the Foreman and Superintendent to perform work tasks with the highest level of quality, take direction from more senior level equipment operators on the team to ensure production remains on schedule and all construction work is performed safelyMay assist in lifting, positioning and securing of materials and work pieces during installationMay perform a variety of manual tasks for extended periods of timeResponsible for care and custody of equipment being operated, including daily cleaning and maintenanceReport all equipment maintenance issues to SuperintendentPerform other miscellaneous duties as assignedQualificationsSalary Range: $22.00 - $25.00 per hourKnowledgeable in OSHA regulations regarding excavation methods and practicesMay require the ability to read survey stakes for alignment and gradingPerform the duties of equipment operator and/or laborer while using different levels of PPE and respiratory equipment, when necessaryMSHA Certification a plusPerform duties of equipment operator and/or laborer while working in all outdoor weather conditionsMust be able to travel over extended periods of time on short noticeMust be able to read, write and understand math and EnglishRequired to pass skills test prior to operating equipmentMust reliably show up on time to work five to seven days a weekHigh school diploma or equivalent is required40-Hour HAZWOPER training certification and TWIC preferredTwo years of industry related experience is preferredRecon is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
