Shift: Nights 7P-7A | Start Date: 05/25/2026 | Hourly Pay Rate: $56.95


Summary:

The Registered Nurse is a clinical practitioner responsible for coordinating and implementing patient care tailored to the specific age group served within the critical care unit. Ensuring the delivery of high-quality, safe, and efficient care that aligns with organizational standards, the RN demonstrates professionalism and respect in interactions with staff, physicians, patients, and families. The role involves assessing patient conditions, developing individualized care plans, performing point-of-care testing, and participating in patient education and discharge planning.


Responsibilities:

• Conduct initial assessments and prioritize patient needs based on age, symptoms, and psychosocial factors.
• Reassess patients regularly to monitor progress and identify trends requiring intervention.
• Develop and implement measurable, individualized care plans in accordance with Nursing Standards of Care.
• Make comprehensive nursing decisions, interpret clinical data, and modify care plans as needed.
• Engage in patient and family health education and assist with discharge planning.
• Document interventions and evaluate the effectiveness of care provided.
• Perform Point of Care testing procedures as required.
• Delegate tasks appropriately, coordinate team assignments, and ensure completion.
• Communicate effectively using established strategies to achieve desired outcomes.
• Participate in staff orientation, serve as a resource, and foster a positive work environment.
• Collaborate with team members to meet unit and organizational goals.
• Maintain high levels of patient and customer satisfaction, ensuring respectful and confidential care.
• Promote teamwork and uphold the hospital's positive image and mission.
• Support unit growth and organizational performance improvements.
• Contribute to special projects, interpret HR policies, and adapt to changing work environments.
• Maintain professionalism, flexibility, and adherence to safety policies.
• Pursue ongoing professional development and ensure reliable attendance.

Requirements:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited RN program.
• Licenses/Certifications: Current New Mexico RN license or an active Compact state license, BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications.
• Skills: Knowledge of patient care appropriate to the adult critical care population, excellent communication skills, and sensitivity to patient rights.
