Lower School Substitute Teacher

Title: Lower School Substitute TeacherReports to: Lower School PrincipalWork Year: 10-Month Non-Exempt, Seasonal (As Needed Basis)Job Description:The Lower School substitute teacher will serve in a range of grade levels from Pre-Kindergarten through 6th grade on an as-needed basis, up to 27.5 hours per week. The Lower School substitute teacher will implement classroom instruction utilizing teacher-provided lesson plans and maintain a positive and structured learning environment. Candidates must demonstrate a love for children, a commitment to Biblical values, and the ability to communicate effectively while managing classroom responsibilities with professionalism and care.Spiritual:Seek to role model in attitude, speech, and action a consistent daily walk with Jesus ChristMotivate others to accept God’s gift of salvation and grow in their faithFollow Matthew 18 principle in dealing with students, parents, staff, and administrationLead others to a realization of their worth in Christ and cultivate their growth in Christ-like characterSubscribe to and promote the statement of faithPosition Responsibilities:Arrive on time and prepared for the dayWarmly greet students as they enter the classroomTake accurate attendanceImplement lesson plans provided by the classroom teacherMaintain a positive, respectful, and Christ-centered learning environmentActively supervise students, including in the classroom, hallways, recess, lunch, and dismissalCommunicate effectively with students, staff, and parentsPromptly report any concerns or incidents to the Lower School OfficeUphold the guidelines outlined in the Lower School Parent/Student HandbookAdhere to school policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee HandbookSupport a school-wide culture of high expectations, growth mindset, and collaborationProvide feedback to school staff regarding the day’s experience, including the effectiveness of lesson plans and student behaviorQualifications:Bachelor’s degree (preferred)Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with students, faculty, and staffActive Christian and member in good standing of a Bible-believing churchFlexible and adaptable, with the ability to adjust to varying daily responsibilitiesStrong classroom management and organizational skills, including calendar coordinationExcellent critical thinking, verbal, and written communication skills #J-18808-Ljbffr Cambridge Christian School Inc
