Staffing Specialist – Recruiting, Client Support & Business Development

Location:
Poughkeepsie, NY ( On-Site – Local Candidates Preferred )
Employment Type:
Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire
Schedule:
Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay Rate:
$28–$30 per hour + commission

Job Overview:
We’re hiring a Staffing Specialist to support both the recruiting process and client relationships. This role includes client interaction, candidate sourcing and screening and marketing, helping us grow new and existing accounts through consistent outreach, follow-up, and service.
This role is perfect for someone who is patient, people-focused, and highly detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while keeping a calm, professional tone.

Staffing Specialist Responsibilities:

Recruiting & Candidate Management

• Source candidates using job boards, referrals, and internal systems
• Conduct phone screens and coordinate interviews
• Maintain consistent follow-up to keep candidates engaged
• Support onboarding tasks including documentation and pre-employment steps
• Keep accurate, up-to-date records in the applicant tracking system

Client Support & Relationship Management

• Communicate with clients regarding open roles, scheduling, and hiring needs
• Provide updates on candidate pipelines and recruiting progress
• Build and maintain professional relationships through consistent communication

Sales & Business Development Support

• Share candidate availability and market updates with clients and prospects
• Assist with job order intake, confirming requirements and job details
• Support outreach efforts to grow existing accounts and develop new business

Qualifications & Skills:

• Experience in staffing, recruiting, customer service, or inside sales preferred
• Strong communication skills and confidence speaking with clients and candidates
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
• Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Professional, patient, and able to handle high-volume follow-up
• Experience using an ATS/CRM system and Microsoft Office preferred
