Bindery Operator

Shift: 2nd shift, 3rd shift Pay Range: $20-$23 Equipment: MBO folder and flatbed cutters \n Job Description Job Title: Bindery Folder/Cutter Operator We are currently recruiting for a Bindery Folder/Cutter Operator to join our team. This position is responsible for performing manual and machine tasks related to the setup, operation, and maintenance of flatbed cutters and MBO folding machines within a print manufacturing environment. The Bindery Folder/Cutter Operator will produce high-quality printed and folded materials according to job specifications, quality standards, and production schedules. Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate MBO folding machines and flatbed cutters, including feeder, folding, cutting, and delivery adjustments
• Configure folder equipment for special processes such as perforating, scoring, slitting, trimming, and various fold styles including parallel, gate, and accordion folds
• Read and interpret job tickets, layouts, and specifications to ensure accurate folding and cutting
• Verify accuracy of folds, final sizes, and crossovers on signatures while ensuring no marking or defects
• Perform additional bindery operations such as cutting, punching, shrink-wrapping, stitching, padding, and round cornering
• Troubleshoot folder machine issues and correct process-related problems to maintain production efficiency
• Monitor production runs for quality, consistency, and efficiency through regular product inspection
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on folder and cutter machines and document maintenance activity as required
• Complete required documentation and data entry to support accurate machine records and inventory tracking
• Load paper onto folder equipment and prepare basic startup functions
• Follow proper safety procedures while operating bindery equipment
• Adhere to company Standard Operating Procedures and current Good Manufacturing Practices
• Assist with cleanup and maintain a neat and orderly work area
• Perform other duties as requested

• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum of 3 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum of 2 years of experience operating MBO or similar folding equipment in a commercial print or packaging environment
• Experience operating a flatbed cutter preferred
• Basic knowledge of mechanical maintenance
• Ability to read and interpret rulers, scales, and other measurement devices
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, fractions, and volume
• Must be able to stand regularly and walk frequently
• Must be able to use hands and fingers in continuous and repetitive motions
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without mechanical assist
