Job Description and Duties

Under the general direction of the Supervisor II, the incumbent is responsible for oversight and management of contract, procurement and grant activities. The incumbent provides oversight and direction to subordinate staff, including coordination, management, and delegation of procurement requisitions, contracts, grant agreements and solicitations. The incumbent personally performs the more complex and sensitive contract, procurement and grant work. The Supervisor I establishes and administers department procedures to ensure compliance with statutory mandates and control agency directives and ensures the delivery of efficient and effective services to stakeholders. The incumbent also provides training and contract management support, and other procurement related activities. Working Conditions
This position is located at: 1416 9th Street, Sacramento, CA 95814.
The incumbent works 40 hours per week in an office setting. Air-conditioned, High-rise building with elevator access. Cubicle with natural and artificial lighting. We offer a hybrid work schedule in accordance to DIR’s telework policy. The incumbent must be able to remain in a stationary position for a prolonged period of time using a computer and telephone and interaction with coworkers and other stakeholders.Special Requirements

Desirable Qualifications
In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
- In-depth knowledge and/or experience in the State of California’s contract, procurement and grant processes and procedures.
- Knowledge of principles, practices of public administration, including management, organization, planning, cost/benefit analysis, and project management and evaluation.
- Ability to exercise good critical thinking skills to guide decision making, and managing challenging problems and issues before recommending solutions.
- Ability to demonstrate leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills in a supervisory capacity.
- Knowledge of State contract and procurement standards and requirements and evolving industry trends and standards, as well as a broad knowledge of the State’s enterprise vision and their application and importance in DIR.
