Registered Nurse - OR - Days

Hourly Pay Range $36.00 - $55.80 per hour, based on expertise and years of experience. Position Highlights Role: RN – Operating Room Location: Chicago, IL Type: Full Time Schedule: Monday–Friday; days 3am–11:30pm, including on‑call requirements. What You Will Do Utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Maintain competency reflective of current practice standards. Interact and contribute to the professional development of peers and colleagues. Integrate ethical provisions into all areas of nursing practice. Apply evidence‑based practice and research findings to nursing care. Recognize and adapt to situations that vary from the norm. Promote safety measures to prevent patient and staff injuries. Guide and supervise staff in the provision of patient care. Enhance own professional growth and development. Maintain a safe therapeutic environment and respond appropriately in emergencies. Ensure thorough and timely documentation. Assist in patient positioning and ensure patient safety. Provide accurate care and handling of specimens. Observe, check, and enforce strict asepsis standards. Monitor all equipment used during surgery to ensure proper function. Document intra‑operatively in Epic. Conduct appropriate surgical counts. Select and handle instruments and supplies used for the operation, passing them to the surgeon. What You Will Need Two or more years of nursing experience (preferred). Graduate from an accredited nursing school. Demonstrated mastery of nursing skills. Effective communication skills and ability to guide and supervise nursing personnel. Current Illinois nursing licensure. American Heart Association CPR certification; ACLS, PALS, NRP may be required within six months, depending on unit requirements.
