Description

• Assess patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics through standardized assessments and observational methods.
• Craft tailored treatment plans that target immediate goals while addressing longer-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing challenges.
• Deliver personalized speech therapy to enhance skills in communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
• Work collaboratively with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, families, and caregivers to develop comprehensive care approaches.
• Provide educational support to patients and families, empowering them to contribute to progress outside of therapy sessions.
• Conduct occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions, ensuring consistent patient care throughout their recovery.
• Keep precise and timely records that adhere to state, federal, and organizational standards.
• Engage in continuous learning to stay abreast of advancements within the field through professional education and collaboration with peers.

Education

• A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.

Certifications

• State licensure required for Speech Language Pathology.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
