Accountant

Our client is an organization in the Fox Valley area looking for an Accountant . Our client is looking for someone with a strong accounting foundation, a positive and collaborative approach, and an eagerness to learn and grow. The Accountant will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following: RESPONSIBILITIES Assist with day-to-day general accounting activities and maintain accurate financial records. Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation as part of the monthly close process. Complete account and balance sheet reconciliations and research discrepancies as needed. Assist with month-end and year-end accounting activities. Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure transactions are recorded accurately and timely. Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other transactional accounting activities as needed. Assist with the preparation of financial reports and supporting schedules. Analyze account activity and help identify unusual items, trends, or variances. Provide documentation and support for internal and external audit requests. Collaborate with other accounting and business teams to resolve questions and obtain necessary information. Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documentation. Learn company processes, systems, and operations to develop a broader understanding of the business. Identify opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency within the accounting function. Take on additional accounting responsibilities and project work as experience and knowledge grow. The Accountant will possess the following: EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. 1–2 years of accounting experience preferred; relevant internship experience may be considered. Foundational understanding of general accounting principles. Exposure to journal entries, account reconciliations, general ledger accounting, or month-end close preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and comfort learning new accounting systems. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Collaborative and team-oriented with the ability to build positive working relationships. Self-motivated with a willingness to ask questions, learn, and take on new challenges. Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and ability to adapt as responsibilities evolve. Desire to grow professionally and take on increasing levels of responsibility over time.
