CNC Lathe Machinist - 1st or 2nd Shift

Company Overview Aero Gear is a global supplier of aerospace gears and gearbox assemblies to top OEMs such as Pratt & Whitney, GE, AVIO, Collins, Rolls Royce and Sikorsky. Position Summary The CNC Machinist will independently and safely set up and operate 3, 4, and 5 axis equipment. Essential Functions Read and understand process travelers, setup journals, tooling sheets and operation sheets to produce complex finished product. Make tooling adjustments and program offsets as necessary. Accurately inspect work utilizing various instruments, including OD & ID indicating gaging, indicators, micrometers, height stands and verniers. Perform daily TPM responsibilities. Maintain good housekeeping practices on machines and in work area. Comply with all company and safety rules and regulations. Wear necessary personal protective equipment as required. Actively participate in cross‑training, cost savings and team activities to improve processes. Maintain appropriate tact and diplomacy in dealings with co‑workers, team members and supervisors. Competencies Technical capacity Problem‑solving / analysis Initiative Results‑driven Experience and Education Minimum of 3 years of aerospace CNC machining experience is required. High school diploma or equivalent required. Degree/certificate from vocation school or college program is a plus; extensive experience may substitute for education. Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Physical Demands The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee is regularly required to stand, use hands and arms, walk, sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and talk or hear.
