Bookkeeper

Location: Brownsville, TX

Job Summary: We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented bookkeeper to manage day-to-day financial transactions and maintain accurate financial records. This role is responsible for ensuring all financial data is up to date and supporting overall accounting operations in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Record daily financial transactions (income, expenses, invoices, payments)
• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts across multiple entities
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Process payroll and maintain payroll records (if applicable)
• Maintain general ledger and ensure accuracy of financial data
• Prepare financial reports (profit & loss, balance sheets, etc.)
• Assist with budgeting and financial tracking
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
• Work with management and external accountants as needed

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a bookkeeper or similar role
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
• Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks or similar)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to handle confidential information

Preferred:

• Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Experience in payroll processing
• Experience in construction, staffing, or industrial industries
