The Sales Floor Team Member is responsible for continuous quality checks on sales floor products, merchandising hard and soft line items according to standard operating procedures, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean, neat, and safe work environment. The position also requires cross‑training for duties outside merchandising, including cash register responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Stocks the sales floor with newly processed merchandise, fitting room go‑backs, and new good items as directed; Completes pushing of carts within the prescribed time frame; Checks for quality and reports to management; Pulls inventory off the floor for quality and rotation. Continuously seeks opportunities to increase efficiency in adding and displaying merchandise. Maintains a friendly, helpful attitude toward customers and possesses professional service‑oriented etiquette at all times; Greets customers in a friendly and enthusiastic manner within 10 seconds of arrival. Assists customers in locating and selecting merchandise. Addresses customer concerns courteously and respectfully, following retail policies and seeking supervisor assistance when necessary. Records sales using the cash register while properly packaging merchandise; Invites every customer to add a round‑up donation, maintaining a minimum 25% round‑up average. Ensures accurate payment collection. Maintains proper cash balance in the assigned till per over/under policy. Maintains interior and exterior merchandise displays and inventory in a neat, clean, organized manner, including vacuuming, dusting, cleaning bathrooms, and mopping floors. Acts as a positive team member by offering ideas or concerns to coworkers and management in a timely and supportive fashion. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations. The position requires working nights, weekends, and holidays.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous retail experience preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and understand documents such as time cards and policy manuals. Ability to write routine reports. Ability to speak effectively and communicate clearly with employees and customers.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The employee typically works in a comfortable store environment but may be exposed to the outside environment when receiving donations and to a warehouse‑like donation processing area.

AVAILABILITY

Must have open and flexible availability, willing to work evenings and weekends.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This role requires standing, walking, reaching overhead, crouching, kneeling, and carrying loads up to 100 lb. It also involves pushing and pulling forces up to 100 lb.
