Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)

The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) position involves providing comprehensive care to patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum stages. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring patients, assisting in deliveries, and ensuring the safety and well-being of both mothers and newborns.

  • Duration: 16 weeks
  • Shift: Rotating
  • Hours: 36- or 48-hour shifts
Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of full-time RN experience in Labor and Delivery prior to travel assignments.
  • Education: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • License: Valid RN license required.
  • Certifications:
    • Current BLS/HCP
    • ACLS
    • C-EFM (NCC)
    • NRP (Advanced)
    • NIHSS and CPI (or equivalent) preferred
    • Specialty certifications such as RNC-OB, RNC-NIC, or RNC-MNN are highly desired.
Additional Information
  • All licenses and certifications must be valid at the time of application submission and throughout the entire contract duration.
  • Requested time off (RTO) during the initial contract is limited to a maximum of 7 days, Wednesday through Wednesday.
  • Compliance must be completed no later than 10 days prior to the contract start date.
  • Travelers may be required to float to other areas within their skill set based on operational needs.

The Perinatal Unit provides a range of services including routine and high-risk obstetrical and newborn care, along with gynecologic and pediatric services. The unit promotes family-centered care with rooming-in and breastfeeding support in an environment staffed by experienced obstetricians, anesthesiologists, and pediatric hospitalists. The facility features private labor rooms, operating suites, postpartum beds, and newborn care areas.

Care is delivered in accordance with established standards, emphasizing individualized care plans, family education, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The team is equipped to handle both routine and complex cases, ensuring comprehensive support for mothers and their newborns.
