Registered Nurse (RN) - DI Nursing

We are searching for a Registered Nurse (RN) to work in our Diagnostic Imaging Unit –someone who works well in a fast-paced hospital setting and provide nursing care to patients by assessing, planning, educating, implementing, and evaluating age-appropriate care in a manner that incorporates family-centered principles and cost-effective care. Texas Children’s Radiology Department has earned the gold standard in accreditation from the ACR for our medical imaging expertise. These gold seals of accreditation signify our achievement as a Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence (DICOE) – the highest achievement for medical imaging facilities. Think you have what it takes ok with part-time knowledge of critical thinking skills, and interdisciplinary collaboration Qualifications Bachelor's degree in nursing or bachelor’s degree in nursing enrolled Current licensure with the Board of Nursing for the State of Texas or Nurse Licensure Compact and BLS certification 9 months year of professional nursing experience Expectations preparing patients for imaging procedures like X-rays, CT scans, and MRIs, monitoring their vital signs during the procedure administering medications like sedation if needed, and educating patients about what to expect before and after the test focus on patient care throughout the imaging process while collaborating with radiologists and imaging technicians Responsibilities Performs and documents assessment of the patient/family including biophysical, psychosocial, developmental (age-appropriate), culture, spiritual, and environmental needs in an organized and systematic manner Analyzes situations, anticipates potential problems, and detects changes in patient status Re-prioritizes and updates plan of care based on new information and changes to the patient’s condition; communicates this information and documents in the medical record Participates in interdisciplinary rounds and/or patient care conferences and documents in the medical record Assists patients/family in implementing their role in the plan of care as appropriate Assess patient family learning needs capabilities, preferences, and readiness to learn prior to teaching Demonstrates positive and effective interpersonal skills when dealing with patients/families, visitors, peers, and other health care team members Administers and documents medications and treatments in a timely manner Demonstrates willingness and ability to acquire new knowledge and utilize new skills needed to improve individual, team, and organizational performance Participate in unit performance improvement initiatives As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace, all successful candidates will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards. #J-18808-Ljbffr Texas Children's Hospital
