Seeking a PRN Retail Pharmacist to provide patient-centered pharmaceutical care in a community healthcare setting. Key Responsibilities Include Reviewing, verifying, and accurately dispensing prescription and over-the-counter medications. Counseling patients on medication use, potential side effects, and adherence. Supervising pharmacy technicians and support staff to ensure safe and efficient operations. Collaborating with healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy. Maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations, including medication labeling, storage, and documentation. Managing medication inventory, conducting audits, and overseeing controlled substances. Monitoring patient responses to therapy and addressing medication-related concerns. Participating in quality improvement initiatives and ensuring a clean, safe pharmacy environment. Qualifications Required Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent from an accredited school. Current or eligible Illinois Pharmacist license. Strong knowledge of pharmacology, pharmacy law, and medication safety. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong customer service orientation and professionalism. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Preferred experience: retail pharmacy background, familiarity with pharmacy management systems, supervising staff, and insurance processes. Physical demands: standing, walking, and computer work for extended periods; ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally; detailed visual work and effective communication are essential.
