Project Manager

Overview VSS International, Inc., a leader in pavement preservation, is hiring a Project Manager for its facility. Responsibilities Supervise project superintendent. Solicit quotes for advertised projects. Interact with owners and keep them apprised of project status. Direct and manage projects for completeness and accuracy. Responsible for scheduling and monitoring to assure project specifications. Verify quantities and hours with superintendent to determine accuracy of daily movement of project. Research potential projects continuously. Monitor documents such as job packets for accuracy and completeness. Monitor job status. Communicate with owners and management the quantity of project and completion status. Have thorough knowledge of all paperwork requirements and office procedures related to the project. Monitor aging report and invoicing status of projects. Assure pre-job submittals, act as field monitor and deliver bids. Attendance is an essential function of this position. Perform other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities Oversee field operations and superintendent of projects. Responsible for training, performance, inspecting, budgeting, coaching, and/or counseling to complete projects under budget when possible. Qualifications Minimum 3-5 years in the road surfacing industry. Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, to interact with internal and external drivers and customers. Proven leadership qualities. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects using organizational and communication skills. Strong sense of responsibility regarding timely and accurate completion of work and a strong commitment to corporate goals. Ability to function under fast-paced, stressful working conditions. Education and Experience One-year certificate from college or technical school, or related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Three to five+ years experience in the road surfacing industry and project management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
