Scale Clerk

POSITION SUMMARY: Under immediate direction, operates weigh system and processes, performs routine maintenance and a variety of other activities that support the daily operations of the Miami County Sanitary Engineering department. QUALIFICATIONS: Completion of four (4) years of high school or equivalent. DUTIES: Weighs and documents daily tonnage (weighs incoming and outgoing vehicles using computer operated weigh system), ensures that no improper materials are taken into transfer station (inspects incoming materials, etc.), collects payments, makes cash transactions, counts and balances daily transactions, answers routine telephone inquiries regarding Transfer Station operations and material acceptance policy. Performs routine custodial and maintenance work in scale house (cleans restrooms, washes windows, etc.), receives customers and deliveries, communicates with Business Administrator and Transfer Station Operations Manager. Meets all job safety requirements and all applicable OSHA safety standards that pertain to essential functions. Demonstrates regular, predictable, and punctual attendance.
