THE OPPORTUNITY

The Dispatcher will be responsible for coordinating the delivery and pickup of roll-off containers for our customers, as well as managing the schedules and routes of our drivers. This role will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, maintaining accurate records, and providing excellent customer service.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Communicate with customers to schedule and confirm roll-off container orders, changes, cancellations, and complaints.
• Dispatch drivers to assigned locations and monitor their progress and status throughout the day.
• Optimize routes and resources to maximize productivity and profitability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues or problems that arise during service delivery.
• Maintain communication with drivers, managers, and other dispatchers to ensure smooth operations.
• Update and maintain accurate records of orders, invoices, driver logs, fuel reports, and other documentation.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding waste management and transportation.
• Provide feedback and coaching to drivers to improve their performance and safety.
• Use Microsoft Teams to collaborate with other dispatchers, managers, and mechanics.
• Flexible hours are needed. Will be responsible for staying until the last driver daily and scanning all weight tickets and other necessary paperwork.
• Prepare and submit Excel reports on daily, weekly, and monthly activities and performance.
• Coordinate with internal mechanic shop and tire maintenance providers to ensure optimal vehicle condition.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO OUR ORGANIZATION

• 1-2 years previous experience as a dispatcher or in a similar role, preferably in the waste management or recycling industry.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have general familiarity with the Greater Phoenix area.
• Experience with GeoTab or similar telematics software preferred.
• Knowledge of roll-off container types, sizes, and capacities a plus.
• Proficiency in dispatch software, GPS systems, and other computer applications.
• Ability to work under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
