Portfolio Operations Managers support investment firms and portfolio companies by driving operational performance, monitoring key metrics, and executing value-creation initiatives across the portfolio.
The role blends operational analysis, project management, and cross-functional coordination, working closely with investment teams, operating partners, and portfolio company leadership.
Key ResponsibilitiesTrack and analyze operational and financial performance across portfolio companies
Develop and maintain KPIs, dashboards, and reporting frameworks
Support execution of portfolio-wide value-creation initiatives
Partner with portfolio company management on operational improvement projects
Monitor budgets, forecasts, and operating plans
Identify performance gaps, risks, and operational improvement opportunities
Coordinate cross-functional initiatives across finance, operations, technology, and go-to-market teams
Prepare portfolio reviews, operating reports, and executive-level updates
Support pre- and post-investment operational diligence and integration efforts
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field
Experience in portfolio operations, management consulting, private equity, or operating roles
Strong understanding of business operations, financial metrics, and performance management
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
Proficiency in Excel and presentation tools; familiarity with data visualization or analytics tools is a plus
Strong project management and stakeholder coordination skills
Clear written and verbal communication abilities
Ability to operate in fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environments
