Lab Clerk Opportunity

Pride Health is hiring a Lab Clerk to support our client's medical facility in Everett, WA 98201. This is a 3+ month contract job opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Location: Everett, WA 98201

Job Type: Local Contract

Duration: 4 months contract (possibilities of extension)

Pay rate: $19 to $20/hr. On W2 (pay is based on experience/educational qualifications)

Shift: Mon – Friday (no weekends or holidays)

1st shift – 7 AM to 3:30 PM

Mid shift – 12 PM to 8:30 PM

Clinic hours: from 7 AM to 11 PM – (This role will mainly cover either the 7 AM start or mid shift, with flexibility required for coverage during PTOs or callouts.)

Interview: In-person - structured interview with scenario-based questions and skills assessment (specimen handling and data entry)

Job Responsibilities:

1. Receive, verify, sort, and prepare biological specimens (blood, urine, etc.) according to protocol.
2. Accession lab orders and perform accurate data entry in EHR and LIS systems.
3. Label, centrifuge, aliquot, and load specimens onto laboratory equipment.
4. Operate lab equipment (centrifuges, copiers) to support daily workflow.
5. Track and manage specimen status to ensure timely processing and reporting.
6. Answer calls regarding test orders and specimen requirements; support providers and clinical staff.
7. Communicate with reference labs to resolve inquiries and specimen-related issues.
8. Complete requisitions, incident reports, and ensure external results are received, scanned, and routed in HER.
9. Perform routine equipment maintenance (temperature logs, cleaning, freezer defrosting).
10. Maintain compliance with HIPAA, safety protocols, and participate in training and process improvement initiatives.
11. May need to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
12. May stand or sit for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
13. Wear PPE for extended periods and follow biological safety protocols.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma/ GED or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory or healthcare setting.
• Coursework in medical laboratory technology, biology, or related field preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required (or obtained within 30 days).
