Orthopedic Surgical – PA or NP Location: Boston, MA Job Summary This position provides direct patient care with complex medical or surgical patients in an ambulatory and/or inpatient setting. The PA or NP works closely with faculty, fellows, residents, and nursing staff to develop and coordinate a plan of care that meets the needs of the patient and their families. Responsibilities Perform history and physical examinations. Formulate care plans, order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests. Provide education to patients and families. Act as an educator and clinical resource for staff, including formal and informal education, literature review, and participation in seminars and conferences. Coordinate patient care to ensure safe, effective, timely patient‑centered care. Liaise between visiting nurses, clinical staff, and consulting services. Consult with physicians or surgeons for complex diagnoses. Document clinical encounters accurately and promptly. Collaborate with other health professionals to determine health needs of patients and families. Required Qualifications Physician Assistant: Master’s degree in physician assistant; Licensed PA in MA with DPH Drug Control registration and Basic Life Support certification; 0–1 year related work experience; ARC‑PA or NCCPA certification; valid prescriptive authority from MA DPH‑DCP and Federal DEA; computer skills including web‑based and Microsoft Office. Nurse Practitioner: Master’s degree in Nursing; Nursing license and Basic Life Support certificate; MA Board authorization to practice as an APRN NRSG; valid prescriptive authority from MA DPH‑DCP and Federal DEA; basic life support certification. Preferred Qualifications Three to five years of clinical experience in complex varied situations. Pay Range $133,120.00 – $230,000.00 USD per year.
