Minimum 2+ years recent Labor & Delivery RN experience required / CERTIFICATIONS – BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Advanced Fetal Monitoring preferred (per facility requirements) / LICENSE – Active California RN License Required / Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, 36 hrs/week, 13 weeks / Setting: Acute Care – Labor & Delivery / EMR: Facility-specific training provided / Skills: Labor management, fetal monitoring, maternal assessment, high-risk obstetric care, vaginal deliveries, circulating C-sections, newborn stabilization, postpartum recovery, IV therapy, and emergency obstetric interventions required / Unit Details: Labor & Delivery unit providing care for antepartum, intrapartum, and immediate postpartum patients / Ratios: Follows AWHONN staffing guidelines and facility standards / Common Patient Population: Laboring mothers, high-risk OB patients, scheduled and emergency deliveries, postpartum mothers, and newborns / Drips: Oxytocin, magnesium sulfate, and other obstetric medications as required / RT Equipment: Standard maternal and neonatal respiratory support equipment available / Charge Nurse: Dedicated charge nurse available per shift / OB/Anesthesia Coverage: Available per facility guidelines / Monitoring: Continuous fetal monitoring with RN interpretation required / Scheduling: Facility scheduling based on unit needs / Weekend Requirement: As required by unit staffing needs / Holiday Requirement: Based on unit rotation and coverage needs / Floating: May float within women's services as needed and within scope of practice / Call Requirement: None specified / Orientation: Unit-specific orientation provided / Scrubs: Facility-approved scrubs / Additional: 13-week assignment at Watsonville Community Hospital, Watsonville, CA. Night shift position with 36 guaranteed hours per week. Candidates should be comfortable managing labor patients independently in a fast-paced Labor & Delivery environment.
