Emergency Room Registered NurseThis position involves working in an emergency room setting. The unit consists of 44 beds, including 3 trauma bays. Fast track patient care is available for low acuity patients. Triage processes are in place to assess patient needs effectively. Patient ratios may vary based on acuity, ranging from 1:4 to 1:5. Common patient presentations include abdominal pain, chest pain, and altered mental status. The emergency room sees an average of 135 patients per day. Behavioral health cases are frequent due to onsite capabilities. The team operates under established protocols for rapid intervention. Staff members must be flexible and collaborative. The unit has various resources such as CT, diagnostic rooms, and a stat lab. The culture encourages stocking supplies and maintaining an organized environment. All nurses will be expected to work weekends as scheduled. Self-scheduling will be implemented to promote work-life balance. The dress code includes black scrubs with specific guidelines for outerwear. Professionals in this setting will be equipped to manage multiple types of emergencies.
