We are seeking an experienced Senior Interior Designer to join our Salt Lake City team and play a key role in the design and execution of our projects.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior Interior Designer will lead the interior design process across projects, from initial concept through documentation and implementation. This role requires a strong design perspective, technical expertise, project leadership, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal team members. The ideal candidate is a thoughtful and confident designer who can independently manage their responsibilities while collaborating closely with the broader EHD team. They should be equally comfortable developing a design concept, presenting to a client, coordinating with an architect or contractor, and ensuring the details are carried through documentation and execution.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead the interior design process from concept development through construction and installation. Develop and communicate cohesive design concepts that respond to the project's architecture, client goals, lifestyle, and overall vision. Establish and maintain material palettes, finishes, furnishings, fixtures, and other interior selections. Develop space plans, furniture plans, elevations, reflected ceiling plans, and other interior design documentation. Produce and oversee detailed drawings, specifications, schedules, presentations, and other project deliverables. Develop presentations, renderings, mood boards, and other visual materials to effectively communicate design intent. Coordinate interior design work with architects, consultants, contractors, vendors, and other project partners. Participate in client meetings and confidently present design concepts, selections, and recommendations. Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables while maintaining a high level of design quality and attention to detail. Review drawings, samples, submittals, and other project documentation for design intent and accuracy. Conduct site visits and assist with construction and installation coordination as needed. Identify potential design or project issues and proactively develop solutions. Communicate project updates, decisions, and action items clearly with clients and internal teams. Collaborate with and provide guidance to junior designers and other team members. Help establish and maintain consistent design standards and processes across projects. Stay current with materials, products, design resources, and evolving industry practices.

QUALIFICATIONS

5+ years of professional interior design experience, preferably within a high-end residential, commercial, architecture, or multidisciplinary design firm. Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field preferred. Strong proficiency in Revit and SketchUp is required. Strong understanding of interior architecture, space planning, materials, furnishings, detailing, and construction documentation. Demonstrated ability to develop a project from initial concept through documentation and implementation. Strong design sensibility and a highly developed eye for proportion, scale, materiality, and detail. Ability to independently manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Confidence presenting design concepts and recommendations to clients and project teams. Ability to collaborate effectively with architects, designers, consultants, contractors, and vendors. Strong organizational and time-management skills.
