The scheduler is responsible for the accurate scheduling of surgical and other procedures in the various surgical and procedural areas.

What you will do in this role:

• Coordinates the scheduling of procedures with physicians, physician offices, and anesthesiologists according to established scheduling guidelines.
• Ensures that necessary equipment is available for all scheduled procedures.
• Communicates additions, cancellations and special requests of schedule to all appropriate parties.
• Collects patient demographic and insurance data at time of procedure scheduling.
• Utilizes the computerized scheduling system and supports updates as available.
• Serves as preceptor to new employees.

What qualifications you will need:

• Education : High School Graduate or GED preferred. Secretarial, computer and clerical skills acquired through formal education and training also preferred.
• Experience : Six months experience in office functions acquired through hospital or medical office work preferred. Ability to utilize basic office equipment, including computer terminals.
• Minimum License, Certificates, or Registrations Required : None
