Learning and Development Specialist

Overview In this role, you'll lead our employee onboarding experience, develop engaging learning programs, and collaborate with leaders across the organization to create meaningful development opportunities. From designing career pathways to leveraging emerging technologies- including artificial intelligence, you'll play a key role in helping employees succeed at every stage of their careers. What You'll Do As our Learning & Development Specialist, you'll help shape the employee experience by: Create Exceptional Onboarding Experiences Own and coordinate the employee onboarding program from day one through the first 90 days. Develop role-specific onboarding plans and learning pathways. Conduct onboarding check-ins with new employees and managers to ensure successful integration. Track onboarding milestones and provide leaders with progress updates and recommendations. Design Engaging Learning Programs Partner with department leaders and subject matter experts to identify learning needs and develop effective training solutions. Create learning pathways, competency checklists, facilitator guides, job aids, and instructional materials. Coordinate technical training programs that support employee success and operational excellence. Develop resources that simplify complex products, systems, and procedures into engaging learning experiences. Drive Employee Development Support career growth through learning pathways, Individual Development Plans (IDPs), cross-training opportunities, and development initiatives. Monitor employee progress and recommend learning opportunities that promote long-term success. Assist in the coordination of leadership development programs and organizational learning initiatives. Leverage Technology & Innovation Utilize learning management systems, digital learning platforms, and AI-powered tools to develop engaging training materials and improve knowledge sharing. Explore emerging learning technologies and recommend innovative approaches that enhance employee development. Maintain centralized learning resources that are current, accessible, and easy to use. Measure Success Track learning participation, onboarding effectiveness, and employee development milestones. Develop reports and dashboards that provide meaningful insights into learning outcomes. Continuously improve programs based on employee feedback, organizational needs, and industry best practices. What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who enjoys helping others learn, collaborating across teams, and creating engaging learning experiences that make a lasting impact. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Business Administration, Communications, Instructional Design, or a related field preferred. Three to five years of experience in learning and development, employee onboarding, instructional design, talent development, training, or a related field. Experience designing learning content, onboarding programs, job aids, or employee development resources. Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex information. Strong project management, organizational, and relationship-building skills. Experience collaborating with subject matter experts to develop technical learning content. Experience administering learning management systems (LMS) is preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and content development tools. Curiosity and adaptability in using emerging technologies- including artificial intelligence to improve learning, increase efficiency, and enhance employee development. Financial institution or credit union experience is a plus but not required. Professional training certifications such as ATD or CPTD are preferred. Why Join Edwards Federal Credit Union?
