Senior HVAC Service Technician

Job Overview

The Uthe Group is seeking an experienced, dependable, and motivated Senior HVAC Technician to join our growing team. This position is ideal for a highly skilled technician with extensive experience diagnosing, repairing, installing, and servicing commercial HVAC equipment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality workmanship, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of commercial and government projects throughout the El Paso area and beyond. Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC systems.
• Install new HVAC equipment and components according to manufacturer specifications and applicable codes.
• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, checks, and services.
• Service Systems including: Package Units, Bard Units, Liebert Systems, Stulz Systems, Split Systems, Mini-Split Systems, and Chillers.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical HVAC components.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
• Communicate professionally with customers and project managers.
• Mentor and support less experienced technicians when needed.
• Maintain detailed service records, reports, and logs of all work performed for accountability and future reference.

Requirements

• 10+ years of commercial HVAC experience
• Extensive diagnostic and installation experience
• Experience servicing commercial HVAC systems
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to read blueprints and wiring schematics
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in various indoor and outdoor conditions
• Valid Driver's License
• Clean Driving Record
• Must be able to pass a background check
• Certifications including EPA refrigerant handling certification; additional certifications in ammonia refrigeration or HVAC design are a plus.
• Skilled in electrical diagnostics with experience using ohmmeters and other testing equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in field service environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on government or commercial facilities
• Strong knowledge of HVAC controls
• Experience leading projects or mentoring technicians
• Knowledge of plumbing systems, welding techniques, boiler operation, and property maintenance practices
