About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room (ER) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: Flex between 1500-0330 and 1900-0730 Experience: 24 months of Emergency Room experience required License: Active Iowa or compact multistate nursing license Certifications: - Basic Life Support (BLS) - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) - NIH Stroke Scale Certification Must-Have: - Completed a travel contract within the previous 18 months - EPIC EMR experience is required - Active PALS, TNCC certificates are required - Acceptable de-escalation certifications: CPI, MAB, MOAB, SAMA preferred Description: Perform nursing duties in an emergency room setting. Provide care to a mixed population of patients. Maintain a patient-to-nurse ratio of 4:1. Administer drips and titrations as needed. Scrub color for uniforms includes black, navy blue, and Caribbean blue. Travel nurses may float to designated areas as needed. Participation in 1-2 out of 3 winter holidays is required unless the unit is closed. Reference checks may be conducted from charge nurses, nurse managers or directors. Emergency nursing skills checklist must be specific to the job discipline. Nursing work history must reflect required experience.
