Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our ICU unit, responsible for providing high-quality care to critical patients. The nurse will be expected to handle various patient types and utilize specialized skills in a dynamic setting.

Responsibilities:

• Care for patients with CHF, respiratory distress, ACS, A-fib RVR, DM, and administer blood products.
• Manage drips such as diltiazem, amiodarone, Lasix, nitro, and heparin.
• Perform operations like chest tubes, wound vacs, and dressing changes.
• Monitor femoral arterial sheaths.
• Float within ICU level or below throughout the hospital as needed.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in an ICU setting.
• Must have completed at least one travel assignment.
• Strong skills in handling various patient types and procedures.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• Experience with EPIC EMR system.

Unit Description
General Information
Beds: 39 - MICU, SICU, CICU, TICU - mixed unit
Minimal Experience:
2 years of ICU experience EXCLUDING travel experience is most preferred
If they have 1.5 years of ICU experience EXCLUDING travel, please have CRT send to management team for approval
Will you accept a first-time traveler? No. Minimum one prior travel assignment
Traveler must reside >100 miles outside of facility
Permanent staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
Patient Types:
Complex ICU patients ranging from surgical, medical, cardiac (preferred), neuro and trauma
Diagnoses include: ARDS, MI, CVA/TIA, COVID, s/p cardiac cath, post-surgical, multiple system trauma - heavy trauma population
Cardiac experience is preferred (not required): CABG/TAVR - 24 to 48 hrs post op experience is preferred but not required for travelers
Will not take fresh open hearts unless they are experienced, and the facility felt comfortable with this - given to permanent staff
