Aerotek is hiring a Sit Down Forklift Operator in Wilmington, DE.

1st Shift: M-F 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Payrate: $20 an hour//Paid Weekly to start!

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced, reliable, and safety-focused Sit Down Forklift Operator to operate a Toyota sit-down forklift and support material handling for customer shipments. You will spend the majority of your workday moving, staging, and pulling materials in both indoor and outdoor areas, working closely with a small team while maintaining a strong focus on safe and efficient equipment operation.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Toyota sit-down forklift safely and efficiently for approximately 95% of the shift.
• Pull and stage materials according to shipping schedules and customer orders.
• Load and unload trucks, including handling large parts and pallets, as needed.
• Prepare, organize, and secure products for outgoing shipments.
• Transport materials between storage, production, and shipping areas in a timely manner.
• Conduct daily forklift inspections and promptly report any maintenance or safety concerns.
• Maintain accurate inventory locations and ensure materials are stored properly and safely.
• Assist with general labor tasks, including warehouse duties and housekeeping, when required.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and best practices at all times.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate material flow.

Essential Skills

• Previous sit-down forklift operating experience.
• Demonstrated ability to operate a Toyota sit-down forklift safely and efficiently.
• Experience loading and unloading trucks and handling materials in a warehouse or distribution setting, preferably with large parts.
• Ability to work safely and efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Comfort working outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and humidity.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
• Reliable transportation and a strong attendance record.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in a fast-paced warehouse, yard, or distribution environment.
• Experience with general warehouse duties such as staging, organizing, and housekeeping.
• Ability to maintain accurate inventory locations and follow storage procedures.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a small team.

Work Environment

The role involves handling large parts and materials, moving between storage, production, and shipping areas, and supporting day shift operations in a small, collaborative team setting. The environment emphasizes safety, efficiency, and cleanliness, with regular housekeeping duties to maintain an organized workspace.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wilmington, DE.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
