Schedule

Day shift, 3x12.0 hours per week, every other weekend and a holiday.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants, while also providing support to orientees. This role requires ICU experience and a commitment to patient and employee safety.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to form an individualized plan of care.
• Identify patient teaching needs and collaborate with patients and their families to set goals based on their diagnoses.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and provide direct patient care through the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to relevant care providers to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel.
• Contribute to a positive work environment by offering reassurance and calm direction.
• Maintain communication with management regarding supply needs and staff training.
• Assume charge responsibilities as needed after the orientation period.
• Identify and pursue opportunities for professional growth and development.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required prior to the first shift.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required prior to the first shift for specific locations.
• Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience highly desired.
• ICU experience is required.
